HTC has just announced the Desire 820, the successor to the excellent Desire 816 . The 4G 5.5in phablet will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and will be available in a range of colours, including blue, orange and multiple shades of white and grey.
"Our new HTC Desire model gives entertainment lovers exactly what they are looking for; a powerful, fast, stylish smartphone that delivers their favourite content on a big screen at a competitive price” said Peter Chou of HTC.
"With the HTC Desire 820, we’ve combined the most advanced technology with the best possible entertainment experience and bold, distinctive design, to deliver a handset that is both desirable and affordable."
The phone has a two-tone unibody design and its range of potential colours give it plenty of personality. What really sets the Desire 820 apart is its 8-megapixel front-facing camera, making it ripe for selfie photos. On the back, the Desire 820 will have a 13-megapixel camera with a f2.2 aperture. There'll be a physical shutter button, too, so you don't have to tap the screen to take your shots.
The Desire 820 will also be compatible with HTC's Dot View case, which lets you use your phone, answer calls and dismiss notifications without opening the case. Its dot matrix design also lets you choose a wallpaper from 18 different themes or images in your gallery to create wallpapers that are personal to you.
HTC hasn't announced UK pricing or availability just yet, but we'll bring you all the latest news as we get it.
