John Lewis has snipped £30 from the cost of the 10.2-inch Apple iPad, selling the tablet with 128GB storage for £399.
The deal is available for the Space Grey and Silver models of the iPad, and comes with two years guarantee. John Lewis also claims that if you find a competitor selling the item at a lower price, you’ll have 28 days to claim back the difference.

Apple’s iPads are top of the class when it comes to tablets, and the 2019 iteration is a fine addition to the company’s stable. Our reviewer Jonathan Bray was less than impressed by Apple’s decision to stick with the same A10 Fusion chip as previous models, but he ultimately admitted it was “impossible to deny the quality of the thing.”
“The 10.2in iPad is still the best tablet you can buy for under £500 and, with the addition of a keyboard and iPadOS, it’s also a very good lightweight laptop alternative.”
The John Lewis deal doesn’t come with the keyboard or Apple Pencil , and those cost £159 and £89 from the retailer respectively. If you’re planning on using the iPad as an alternative to a laptop, however, you may want to consider investing as they make it much easier to use the tablet as a work machine.
If you’re only looking for a tablet for some light work, and mainly for entertainment or browsing, then the iPad on its own remains an excellent piece of kit. With 128GB of storage, you shouldn’t have much trouble keeping a sizable platter of films, pictures, docs and apps on the go.
The retailer also sells the 32GB model for £349 , if you’d rather opt for that, but we’d say the price difference with the deal is convincing enough to pay a little more for the substantially boosted storage.
