Cyberlink Power DVD 11 is a popular program that allows you to play both Blu-ray and DVD discs on your computer. When you insert the suitable disc into the Blu-ray or DVD computer drive and execute the Power DVD Software, the disc plays in the similar way as it would on a standalone media player connected to the television. Once the software is installed, you can configure the Power DVD player as your default media player. When reading your Blu-ray discs, you can also configure Power DVD 11 to disable Windows Aero. Windows Aero is a graphical user interface in Windows Vista and Windows 7 which offers advanced features like transparencies and animations.
You can configure Cyberlink Power DVD 11 to automatically disable Windows Aero, when reading your Blu-ray discs: click on the Settings button (small gear icon).
Go to the Blu-ray Disc" tab.
Select the "Windows Aero" tab and check "Allow PowerDVD to automatically disable Windows Aero...."
